And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the Lord— And He will delight in the fear of the Lord,
Isaiah 11:1-3 AMP
In this teaching series in July the 7th month of the year, the Lord shall be taking us through the 7-fold Spirit of God
“From the throne came flashes of lightning and [rumbling] sounds and peals of thunder. Seven lamps of fire were burning in front of the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God;”
Revelation 4:5 AMP
This is the manifestation of the perfect fullness of the ministry of the Holy Spirit
Let’s go back to our scriptural passage
“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the Lord—”

The sevenfold spirit is the manifestation of the spirit of God in two major dimensions
As the Spirit upon - one aspect
As the Spirit within - the other six aspects
The Spirit upon
“And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him" Isaiah 11:2a
What are the characteristics of the 'Spirit Upon'
1. It is a promise from the Lord
“‘And it shall be in the last days,’ says God, ‘That I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see [divinely prompted] visions, And your old men shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams; Even on My bond-servants, both men and women, I will in those days pour out My Spirit And they shall prophesy.”
Acts 2:17-18 AMP
We see the fulfilment at Pentecost
“There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed [among them], and they rested on each one of them [as each person received the Holy Spirit]. And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].”

2. It is a manifestation that cannot be denied
When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, it cannot be denied
See the example of our Lord Jesus Christ
“After Jesus was baptized, He came up immediately out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he (John) saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on Him (Jesus), and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased and”

When The spirit rests upon you, you can’t keep quiet,
And they were all filled [that is, diffused throughout their being] with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (different languages), as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out [clearly and appropriately].”

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.”

3. It is the Anointing for exploits
The Spirit upon brings the anointing for extraordinary feats.
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with great power; and He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with Him.”
Acts 10:38 AMP
Examples of men and women who experience the spirit upon
Gideon
Gideon moved from timidity to exploits after the Holy Spirit came upon him. The 'Spirit upon' turns a fearful individual into an achiever.
“But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him.”
Judges 6:34 NKJV
Samson
The Spirit of the Lord upon Samson turned an ordinary instrument in His hand into an extraordinary weapon of warfare. The Spirit of God upon you can strengthen your feeble hand, mind and instrument to accomplish great things in business, ministry and career.
“When he came to Lehi, the Philistines came shouting to meet him. And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily, and the ropes on his arms were like flax (linen) that had been burned, and his bonds dropped off his hands. He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, so he reached out his hand and took it and killed a thousand men with it.”
Judges 15:14-15 AMP
Jephtha
Jephtha was a man rejected by his kinsmen as insignificant but when the Spirit of God came upon him, he became a sought after warrior and conquerer
“Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he advanced toward the people of Ammon.”
Judges 11:29 NKJV
David
David was anointed in 1 Samuel 16:13, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he never remained the same. it started to manifest in boldness to face a mighty foe in 1 Samuel 17 and that was the beginning of great exploits
“Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers, and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.”
I Samuel 16:13 NKJV
It is the Spirit of speed
The 'Spirit upon' empowers the feeble and slow feet to run.
“Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah [giving him supernatural strength]. He”
1 Kings 18:46 AMP
These were ordinary men, some like Samson could be regarded as idiots in their daily lives but became superpowers after the Holy Spirit came upon them
What does that tell us?
It tells us that God can use anyone regardless of how they view themselves. Gideon saw himself as a coward, Samson was weak in character, Jephtha was a reject and David was unrecognised.
When The Spirit comes upon you, you become an extraordinary instrument in the hands of God
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
Jesus advised us not to rely on ourselves or gifts but wait to be clothed with power if we want to do exploits in the kingdom
“Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you, but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”
Luke 24:49 AMP
This is what we call the baptism of the Holy Spirt
Do you feel incapacitated in any area?
Do you want to be clothed with power for boldness and supernatural strength to do what you would not ordinarily do?
You need the spirit upon in order to fulfil the purpose of God for your life.
When the spirit comes upon you, you are no longer timid, shy, fearful or quiet. You begin to do exploits because of the power upon you.
God wants us to do exploits and He knows we can’t do this by our ordinary selves hence His promise to us. This promise is for you and everyone who would come to the Lord
“For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is for you and your children and for all who are far away [including the Gentiles], as many as the Lord our God calls to Himself.”
Acts 2:39 AMP
We need the 'Spirit upon' to accomplish our divine mandate in the second half of this year.
You might have been dragging your feet and things might have seemed so slow in the first half of the year, now is the time to get empowered for speed to accomplish your divinely inspired goals
Prayer
Father, baptise me anew with power from on high
Father let your spirit rest upon me for empowerment to fulfil my mission this year and beyond.
Begin to name what you need the power upon for.
The Spirit upon is for exploits, speed and extraordinary achievements
Confessions of exploits for the second half of this year
I receive the baptism of boldness like the apostles in Acts chapter 2 to speak the word of God unhindered and never to be timid
I receive the speed of the Holy ghost after the order of Elijah to run purposefully in the second half of this year
I receive the anointing to pull down strongholds that may be impeding my progress after the order of Samson
I am empowered like Gideon to crush every Midianite of sickness, lack, unrest, debt and weaknesses that have been disturbing my peace and prosperity
I am anointed to be an extraordinary instrument in the hand of my God after the order of David
I receive the Spirit upon to overcome all the challenges of the second half of this year and to dominate in every area of life in Jesus mighty name. Amen
