The 2nd Dimension of Glory
Romans 8:22-30 TPT
“To this day we are aware of the universal agony and groaning of creation as if it were in the contractions of labour for childbirth.
And it’s not just creation. We who have already experienced the first fruits of the Spirit also inwardly groan as we passionately long to experience our full status as God’s sons and daughters—including our physical bodies being transformed.
For this is the hope of our salvation. But hope means that we must trust and wait for what is still unseen.
For why would we need to hope for something we already have? So because our hope is set on what is yet to be seen, we patiently keep on waiting for its fulfilment.
And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.
God, the searcher of the heart, knows fully our longings, yet he also understands the desires of the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit passionately pleads before God for us, his holy ones, in perfect harmony with God’s plan and our destiny.
So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together for good, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfil his designed purpose.
For he knew all about us before we were born and he destined us from the beginning to share the likeness of his Son. This means the Son is the oldest among a vast family of brothers and sisters who will become just like him.
Having determined our destiny ahead of time, he called us to himself and transferred his perfect righteousness to everyone he called. And those who possess his perfect righteousness he co-glorified with his Son!”
The 2nd Dimension of glory is the glory in us
The glory within, the glory we carry about.
Scriptural foundation
[But what of that?] For I consider that the sufferings of this present time (this present life) are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us!”
Romans 8:18 AMPC
This type of glory is called ‘tohar’ in Hebrew which means to shine or brightness. It is not the outward brightness but an inner one.
It is the kind that purifies and makes us clean
It depicts the inner character of the host of this glory
It is the glory that resides within us
This glory is like pregnancy in the belly of a woman but which comes out in form of a baby
Romans 8:22 likens it to labour during the delivery of pregnancy
How does this glory come to be in us?
1. Through repentance
“but whenever a person turns [in repentance and faith] to the Lord, the veil is taken away.”
2 Corinthians 3:16 AMP
2. Through revelation
“There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience.”
Colossians 1:26 TPT
We are privileged to become the carrier of glory,
This glory is the presence of Jesus Christ in us
“Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!”
Colossians 1:27 TPT
Truths about this glory
1. It is conceived and maintained by the word of God through revelation
“Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16 AMP
2. The presence of this glory is strength and power within you
“For this I labour [often to the point of exhaustion], striving with His power and energy, which so greatly works within me.”
Colossians 1:29 AMP
3. It fills us with confident hope
“And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very centre and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit] so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people),”
Ephesians 1:18 AMP
4. This glory floods you with light, great understanding
“I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination, flooding you with light, until you experience the full revelation of the hope of his calling —that is, the wealth of God’s glorious inheritances that he finds in us, his holy ones!”
Ephesians 1:18 TPT
5. The glory flows from within by the power of the Holy Spirit
“Believe in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”
John 7:38 TPT
A good man out of the abundance of good in His heart brings forth good things. as this glory fills us, we bring forth good things. We speak words of glory that transform lives
6. The Holy Spirit is the incubator of this glory and the channel through which it is revealed in us
“But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, the peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit. Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.”
Galatians 5:22-23 TPT
7. This glory within you makes you too heavy for the enemy to carry.
“Little children, you can be certain that you belong to God and have conquered them, for the One who is living in you is far greater than the one who is in the world.”
1 John 4:4 TPT
8. This glory infuses you with power and capacity that is sufficient for you to accomplish anything
“I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfil His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]”
Philippians 4:13 AMP
9. This glory manifest as joy in us
“I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.”
John 15:11 AMP
10. This glory empowers us by giving us the antidote to nullify sin
“But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].”
Romans 8:10 AMPC
11. This glory in us gives health to our body
“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.”
Romans 8:11 AMP
12. This glory floods you with wisdom
“Let the word of Christ live in you richly, flooding you with all wisdom. Apply the Scriptures as you teach and instruct one another with the Psalms, and with festive praises, and with prophetic songs given to you spontaneously by the Spirit, so sing to God with all your hearts!”
Colossians 3:16 TPT
⁃ This glory finds its way into us through Jesus Christ, that is when we become united with Him
“Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.
⁃ This glory in us is revealed through fruit bearing
I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
John 15-4-5
So a life without Christ cannot experience this glory
You cannot be pregnant with this glory if you are not in union with Christ
⁃ The manifestation of this glory is in answered prayers
If you remain in Me and My words remain in you [that is, if we are vitally united and My message lives in your heart], ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you.”
John 15:7 AMP
Are you ready for this glory?
Does it reside in you already?
This glory does not compete for space within us. It’s either it occupies us or not at all, it’s either all or nothing
If you haven’t yielded yourself to Christ completely you cannot experience this glory and its benefits
Mary yielded and the power of the Highest overshadowed her and she conceived of Christ.
You too can conceive this glory by the power of the Holy Spirit when you yield yourself to Christ completely.
If you are a believer, this glory can increase in you, fill every part of you when you allow the word of God (Christ) to dwell in you richly according to Colossians 3:16
May Christ continue to dwell in your heart by faith in Jesus name
