Facts about service

1. Service is a choice

Joshua 24:15

If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.... As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

2. When you make that choice you must do it God’s way

“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,”

Colossians 3:23 AMP

3. It must be done in the name of the Lord

“And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.”

Colossians 3:17 AMPC

4. It is Jesus that calls us to service that is why our service is unto Him

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has granted me [the needed] strength and made me able for this, because He considered me faithful and trustworthy, putting me into service [for this ministry],”

1 Timothy 1:12 AMP

4. Service has rewards

“knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.”

Colossians 3:24 AMP.
