Grace overflows with love
“The grace of our Lord [His amazing, unmerited favor and blessing] flowed out in superabundance [for me, together] with the faith and love which are [realized] in Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 1:14 AMP
How does grace relate to love?
1. God’s grace came to us out of love. Love brought grace to us. To live in that grace is to abide in love
“This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.”
1 John 4:9 BSB
2. Love brought us into an intimate relationship with grace
We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us.
God is love! Those who are livi
ng in love are living in God, and God lives through them. By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world.”
1 John 4:16-17 TPT
3. Grace survives and increases in us by love. The food or nutrient of grace is love
Grace came by love, love brought grace down
Grace can only survive and continue in us by love. We cannot grow in grace if we refuse to love.
“Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love.
Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him.
The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love.
The light of God’s love shined within us when he sent his matchless Son into the world so that we might live through him.
This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours.
He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.
Delightfully loved ones, if he loved us with such tremendous love, then “loving one another” should be our way of life!
No one has ever gazed upon the fullness of God’s splendor. But if we love one another, God makes his permanent home in us, and we make our permanent home in him, and his love is brought to its full expression in us.”
1 John 4:7-12 TPT
4. Jesus is grace and He is the epitome of love. You cannot live by this grace or represent this grace without love
“We have come into an intimate experience with God’s love, and we trust in the love he has for us. God is love!
Those who are living in love are living in God, and God lives through them.
1 John 4:16TPT
5. The more you live in love the more you become like Christ
“By living in God, love has been brought to its full expression in us so that we may fearlessly face the day of judgment, because all that Jesus now is, so are we in this world.”
1 John 4:17 TPT
So the more graceful you become because all that Christ is now so are you
And Christ is full of everything that our souls long for.
He is full of Charis (grace, favour, sweetness, goodness, pleasure and delight)
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 BSB
How do we show love in such a way that grace manifests in us?
Through forgiveness
Kindness
Goodness
Favour
David increased in grace because of love.
He chose not to hate the one who decided to persecute him because of the grace of God upon him that made him overcome Goliath and this become the king of Israel
“THERE WAS a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker and weaker.”
2 Samuel 3:1
David became stronger and filled with more grace while the hater reduced till he was extinguished
We must continually show love to people if we claim to be in grace
“If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.”
1 John 4:20 BSB
Loveless people are devoid of grace. Haters are ungraceful people
If you have experienced grace then you will share it with others
Sharing this grace is by love
Prayer
Do you find it difficult to show love?
Ask for the grace to love.
Without love, grace cannot increase
Lack of love robs people of God's goodness
Remember Christ has shown love to us, let us live by this love
