A. The various manifestations of Grace
Titus 2:11-12
God’s marvellous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone.
This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles,[c] and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age
So what are the various manifestations of Grace?
1. Saving grace
The grace that brought salvation,
“Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!”
Ephesians 2:5 TPT
The grace makes us alive before Him
“So then, my soul, why would you be depressed? Why would you sink into despair? Just keep hoping and waiting on God, your Savior. For no matter what, I will still sing with praise, for living before his face is my saving grace!”
Psalms 42:5 TPT
2. Amazing grace
The grace that makes you worthy of service
“Yes, I am the most insignificant of all the apostles, unworthy even to be called an apostle, because I hunted down believers and persecuted God’s church.”
“But God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace to me was not fruitless. In fact, I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God’s, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me.”
1 Corinthians 15:9-10 TPT
3. Abiding Grace
This is what helps us to accomplish task every day 2 Cor 13:14 “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
2 Corinthians 13:14 NLT
4. Sufficient grace
The grace that covers your weakness
“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP
5. Exceeding great grace
Grace for supernatural achievement and exploits
And with great strength and ability and power, the apostles delivered their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace (loving-kindness and favour and goodwill) rested richly upon them all.”
Acts 4:20, 33 AMPC
“The apostles gave powerful testimonies about the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great measures of grace (mega grace) rested upon them all.”
Acts 4:33 TPT
6. Multi-faceted grace - many-sided grace
Grace for diverse gifts, you can perform many tasks and are known for many talents
“Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor].” 1 Peter 4:10 AMP
7. Measureless grace - grace without limit
Strength without measure, great grace for daily encouragement that you won’t be bothered by life’s troubles or persecution
“So here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord, and measureless grace will strengthen you.”
Psalms 55:22 TPT
B. Access to grace
Having looked at the various manifestations of Grace, who do we gain access to these graces?
1. Through Humility and meekness:
The first point of access to grace is through humility for God will only give His grace to the humble
“But he continues to pour out more and more grace upon us. For it says, “God resists you when you are proud but continually pours out grace when you are humble.”
James (Jacob) 4:6 TPT
2. Faith in the finished work of Christ
Grace multiplies with faith. Grace develops with faith
Faith is the channel through which grace flows to humanity.
Luke 6:38
Our measure of faith must be great for it determines what we receive from God
The capacity you present determines what is supplied to you
You have the responsibility to determine how much you draw from God
Eph 2:8 faith is the capacity to receive the grace of God
Faith is the confidence in the finished work of Christ
Never focus on the negative condition that robs one of the positive outcomes
The more you give attention to your condition the more you deter God's grace
3. Fellowship increases grace
The more you appear before God in fellowship with the brethren, the more you increase in Grace for there is a corporate grace that is being outpoured in fellowship which you might not gain access to when you are on your own.
“They go from strength to strength [increasing in victorious power]; Each of them appears before God in Zion.”
Psalms 84:7 AMP
4. Grace multiplies with knowledge
What you read can take you off the shadows of unbelief. knowledge makes you increase in ability for the more you know the more you are empowered to do. Growing in the knowledge of Christ increases grace
“But grow in grace (undeserved favour, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honour, majesty, and splendour) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)!”
2 Peter 3:18 AMPC
5. Grace multiplies with prayer
People of tremendous grace are people of prayer. Prayer is a catalyst for the outpouring of Grace. The more the disciples prayed in the Acts of the Apostles the more they increased in grace. Prayer is approaching the throne of grace where you get all the help and ability you need.
“Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favour] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].”
Hebrews 4:16 AMP
6. Grace multiples with righteousness
God does not waste grace so He won't pour it on sinners. The more you continue to live in sin the more you are far away from grace for the giver of Grace is the righteous God
“She is not afraid of tribulation, for all her household is covered in the dual garments of righteousness and grace.”
Proverbs 31:21 TPT
7. The duplication of grace - transfer of grace
Grace can be accessed through carriers of grace. When you move with those who carry overflowing and measureless grace, you can become a partaker as you walk in the way they walk.
“It is right and appropriate for me to have this confidence and feel this way about you all, because you have me in your heart and I hold you in my heart as partakers and sharers, one and all with me, of grace (God's unmerited favor and spiritual blessing). [This is true] both when I am shut up in prison and when I am out in the defense and confirmation of the good news (the Gospel).”
Philippians 1:7 AMPC
Grace brings capacity
“For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service].” Romans 12:3
So we must grow and increase in grace
“But continue to grow and increase in God’s grace and intimacy with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May he receive all the glory both now and until the day eternity begins. Amen!”
2 Peter 3:18 TPT
Growing in grace is knowing more about your stewardship
The inky element provided for Christian growth is grace. The Bible never encourages us to grow in any other thing but grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ who is our Saving Grace and the giver of Grace
Grace must be cherished
“I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favour], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]”
Galatians 2:21 AMP
Where do these manifestations of grace come from?
They come from the superabundance of our Lord Jesus Christ
“For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift].”
John 1:16 AMP
The first grace you need to gain access to is the saving grace. When you are settled in that, then the door to other manifestations of grace shall be opened unto you as you walk with Jesus.
Are you sure you have the saving grace? Have you fully and truly accepted the saving grace? Are you saved?
